gwn.com — Following the recent release of the Halo 3 Vidoc, Bungie have posted their weekly update to clarify on a few details. The 'X' button will indeed be used to deploy 'equipment' to the map (Bubble Shied/Trip Mine), the 'equipment' will be quite rare so as not to unbalance the gameplay. And the graphics will look a lot nicer in the Beta version.

To my knowledge:A: jumpB: meleeY: switch between weapons / dual wield / drop second weaponX: activate equipmentdigital pad: switch between equipmentleft stick: movementclick left stick: crouch (with the option for toggle)right stick: head move / lookclick right stick: zoom / visorright bumper: reload primary weaponright trigger: fire primary weaponleft bumper: when dual wielding-reload left weapon / switch grenade typeleft trigger: fire secondary weapon / throw grenadeNote: I'm not quite sure how to pick up new weapons (previously X) or equipment. Possibly "hold down bumper" or "tap X" vs. "hold X to deploy" (or conversely, hold X to pick up, tap to deploy)

"the 'equipment' will be quite rare so as not to unbalance the gameplay"I'm amazed that Bungie hasn't noticed, but rarity does not balance game-play one bit.As a new player you always run for the rocket launcher, as an experienced player you always run for the sniper. Have they never watched anyone play Halo 2? What is the point in playing if there is someone with the sword. If it is a huge advantage, you make it your goal to get it quickly. If you are a developer you don't make an unbalanced weapon.I really really hope this game comes out of the mill ok, but not from the way it is sounding.

I'm getting excited for the beta. Sounds like it's going to be a blasty.

I'd pay twice that for a Halo 1.1

@ nobi-wan the same thing happens on xbox live. The developers can choose to end online support when they want.
