You have to register at the Daz3d site after downloading before it will run. Old Corel v5 serial numbers don't work, BTW. Presumably, you'll get spammed with upgrade offers when v6 comes out.
I downloaded it for OSX Tiger, registered on the website, and it seems to be working normally except for one thing. I can create objects, but it's telling me I need to download the "presets" package. I clicked the provided link and it took me to a page to download the WINDOWS version of the plug-ins. Help?
DAZ Studios is the long running company that provided the gigher res Poser models. They had so much success in their Poser packages that I guess they could afford to buy Bryce from Corel.Bryce was my first 3D production package, if you put enough effort you can actually make decent 3D animations with it, not spectacular, but you can create walk through and composite Poser animations into those walk throughs.I abandoned Bryce about 5 years ago when I took up 3D Studio Max and Maya, and am now learning Lightwave.Bryce has a horrible renderer, it's generic, and slow (very slow) and the interface has always bugged me, but it holds a specialy place in my heart.
great, then ignore this news post and STHU... it is after reading threads like these, filled with elite pre-teens downloading the latest graphics warez that 'know' bryce 'sucks' is that I get so dismayed about the public in this place. Please try to add something with the slightest intellectual value to the topic, or don't say anything. Really, in this case it will make you look smarter.Bryce is not the Rolls Royce of 3d animation, we get it... WE KNOW... hmmk... that's why they are giving it away for free... do you see how that works? Thank you DAZ, the tool will actually be appreciated in this computer... i'm not 3l337 you see...

$850 is cheap for a good 3D software package. Maya Unlimited == ~$7000

Impressive! Exact copies of the original set. I can see John Cleese walk in at any moment :-)PS Isn't it "dining" room?

How embarrassing... and it was misspelled everywhere! I'm OK with Bryce... not so good with spelling I guess! :) Thanks!
