9to5mac.com — Apple is set to unleash a new iMac design that will utilize the company's trademark "Brushed Metal" look. One inside source claimed that the New iMacs would utilize Santa Rosa Chipset and could top out at a larger size than the current 24 inch display. Additionally, the design will resemble the current Cinema Display more than the current iMacs

i totally agree with the worm. the resemblance to the side of a mac pro is uncanny. plus, apple would never make anything that had such pointy edges. their entire design philosophy is "smooth, sleek and simple"

This rumor brought to you by the same people who are trying to tell us the iPhone doesn't have that sim card slot that Apple pointed out to all of us. Take this news with a rock of salt.

They better not come out with anything new for the same price. I bought a new iMac YESTERDAY! I tried to wait until after WWDC but I just couldn't.

GREAT! That means that new iMacs are definitely going to appear. My vote is for anodized aluminum in color choices similar to iPod Nanos. Hopefully they will also offer color matching wireless keyboards and mice (white sux). LED for screen light. 20" and 24" models. It will look like current cinema displays but thicker.

Apple uses notebook processors in the iMacs, which is why they are always so far behind the Mac Pros - too much head for such a small box. LED backlighting could help keep temps cooler, but in short - No.

When Apple releases new Macs, they ship right away. So, when other manufacturers release Santa Rosa models a month or two before Apple, they both ship at the same time anyway.

A brushed metal 24" iMac accompanied by a 24" ACD would be awesome!

Why the hell would you write 'sum1' rather than 'someone'? Does it make you cool? Are you rebelling against 'the man'? You sure showed them with your cryptic leet speak. Grow up and and contribute to a productive society.

You lose the chin, it's getting thicker.

I have a feeling that this is not going to happen. The reason I think this is because the marketing materials for the Apple BTS( Back to school) programs have also just come out. If you buy a Mac( Macbook, Macbook pro, Mac Pro) You can get a free 4 gb ipod ($199 MIR) until september end.If you look at the marketing materials they all the art work if for the the current line of the Apple Products. I doubt they are going to come out with new looking iMacs until this promo ends. This is Apple's biggest promotion and they wouldnt have invested a ton of money if tey were going to change the product midway of the promotion. just my thoughts.
