lifehacker.com— Opera 10 final is out, Chrome just turned one year old, and Firefox 3.5 has settled into stability. It's time once again to break out the timers and speed test today's web browsers.

Oh. Thanks! Here I was thinking IE sucked because it wasn't open, has had numerous zero day exploits, is too cluttered and busy, and has more malware written for it than I could ever discover on the Internet. But Thanks, just the same!
Firefox improved immensely through the years. It went from slow and fat to fast and... pretty lean, i guess - while maintaining its trademark flexibility. It now beats Opera in every test *except* cold start. I wouldn't call that slacking off. It's kinda weird to see though, Opera going form the fastest browser a few years back, to being third, below not only the blazing fast Webkit browsers, but also Firefox.
Firefox is slow to load the first time, but the security makes up for it. I'd all but switched to Chrome about a year ago, but I picked up a nasty piece of malware through it, and haven't used it since.
Bah, while I'm using Chrome right now, you can't say either one is superior than the other. Comes down to personal preferences. But damn I wish chrome had a decent adblock+
They got tired of people making fun of gmail being in perpetual beta so they were like "f**k them, We'll release a new major version of our web browser every month. that'll show those assh**es"

Opera really stepped it back up with version 10. Good for them. Keeps everyone on their toes.
