timesonline.co.uk— The linkage of databases and surveillance systems mean Brits are now having their movements tracked, habits profiled and photograph taken hundreds of times a day.

I am so tired of the argument that if you aren't a criminal, you have nothing to hide. The only thing this says about you is that you THINK you have nothing to hide from who is in power now. The only difference between what you think is a crime free city or country and a police state is who is doing the watching. All it takes is one stolen election to change who is in power. All it takes is one event to scare people into going against their best interest. All it takes to become a memory of democracy is for there to be someone else as the Leader. Once the Leader changes so does the Eye, Ear, Finger and Nose. We have already lost the Mouth to the influence of the corporations. You might say, but we have checks and balances but stolen elections fix that. You might say there aren't enough watchers but facial recognition or RFID chipped ID's determines and records your location. There doesn't have to be an actual person watching. Fate sees all.Put your trust in Fate.Strength through purity, purity through faith. For you protection. We have heard these things already. How much more are you willing to concede before you say No, Stop, Enough? If not now then when?England Prevails.
@vaguelyrandomSorry to nitpick but Gibraltar and the Channel Islands are not part of the United Kingdom. Gibraltar is a British overseas territory and the Channel Islands are Crown dependencies.
dadioflexIt may surprise you, and many of the people in the west, that there are laws about identifying children. Many say these are good laws, others know better. In many countries the "child protection authorities" have the right to the following, and actually use them as standard practice. They do not need proof to get involved. Once involved they can break your door down without a warrant. They are allowed to take your children (again without proof) at 3am after breaking down your door. You are not allowed to take the case to the media as the media can and do get shut down for breaking the "Protect the children's identity" laws. If you are lucky enough to ever get your children back through the courts you are monitored for life and you still can't go to the media to explain anything because the media will just not touch it.It sounds awfully like the powers of another group in history... ones that wore black jackboots.
Will you shut up with the f**king V for Vendetta quotes. We've seen and/or read the book. As usual, stupid teenagers spouting out their isolated views of what they understand to be politics. When in fact they couldn't really tell their arse from their elbow the way coverage of such things happens in the media bunker.Orwell's theory was utterly flawed in that he forgot one thing: The working class. (Why must we always have these debates over what Great Britain and the UK are. Buy an atlas)
