telegraph.co.uk— Britain is bracing itself for one of the coldest winters for a century with temperatures hitting minus 16 degrees Celsius, forecasters have warned.

We're in the Southern US, central Alabama to be more precise, at a latitude of about 32 degrees. That's the same or further south than Los Angeles or Cairo and much of North Africa for that matter. And its cold here! In fact the temps are about 15-20 degrees F below normal. There are even freeze warnings down to the citrus growing areas of south Florida. We are expecting at least a week of highs below 40 and lows from 16 to 20 F. Additionally we had an exceptionally mild summer. Al Gore lives about 300 miles north of here and you can bet he won't be turning down his thermostat!
To be clear, this is congruent with the large scale 'global warming' predictions. If that doesn't do it for you I'll explain that the term 'global warming' refers specifically to climate change in which the poles warm and the ice caps begin to melt. The term stuck and is not a description of the effects of the phenomenon. This melting not only increases the effect of this sort of climate change but also cools the temperature of the currents in our oceans which flow around the world. This cooling causes all sorts of unpredictable weather patterns. So, to reiterate, even record low winters fit into this trend.
Logic? There is deception there, thick and fast. Baseless accusations and conjecture.People fall for propaganda ... simple facts used deceptively and out of context from sources which sound authoritative but are laden with bias, such as is evident with CCoburn3's rant.I would like to think people have more faith in solid science than loud buffoons who interpret everything through their political lenses. The requirement to stop polluting is being interpreted as an affront to the self centred, rape the environment, growth and profit at all cost type of life styles. The marketing machine is pumping junk like CCoburn3's disgusting pile of text and people of like mind just gobble it up.Here's a life tip: people will often charge others with offences of which they are guilty.

No, of course not, no more than a local increase in temperature, or a hurricane, or a retreating glacier prove global warming.

"cited as proof" ... maybe by journalists or bloggers or inept politicians.

I'm not the only one to miss the sarcasm. What's a medical doctor have to do with anything...? I'm totally in the dark about that comeback.

And five people bury that post without even the politeness of explaining why.
