I'm perpetually blown away that people actually like DDR as much as they do. Whenever I see some loser busting a move on one of those machines, I can't help but be embarrassed for all mankind.
Most people are real rigid when playing DDR. Anyone can play. Very few can actually look good while playing it, and in fact you can find some decent freestyle videos out there. People who can pass those songs with obscenely fast arrows look the most retarded of all, but they play it for the exercise I'm sure. As for myself, I play using both pads so I don't look like a retard stepping in place. Now I can look like a retard stepping all over. But it's still fun, and it's helping keep me in shape.

You can get better (sans the lighting) professional dance decks cheaper:<a class="user" href="http://store.imarketcity.com/ddrdaremepad.html">http://store.imarketcity.com/ddrdaremepad.html</a> (no lights, no bar, but solid construction - 129.00USDMore high end ones:<a class="user" href="http://www.justddr.com/dance_pad/dance_pad.html">http://www.justddr.com/dance_pad/dance_pad.html</a>All are under the materials cost of the project above. I do applaud them for their skill though, and the lights is a neat feature.
