Well, sure, there's some more code in their so they take a bit larges space (one code for PPC, one code for Intel), but they don't run slower or anything.

At my work we recently had a problem with a g5. An employee had basically 35gigs of projects and documents on their desktop, and it would freeze their computer on start-up. After moving the files via an admin account to the employees HD the comp booted up perfectly fine.

Install OpenDarwin from Apple, pure opensource, FreeBSD and Mach working on your system. Say bye to Cocoa and Quicktime frameworks of course X)
