I wouldn't be averse to an income tax if it were actually apportioned. It is my understanding (though I could be wrong) that most services come from state and local taxes, and that the vast majority of Federal Income Tax revenue just goes to propping up bureaucrats and Central bankers. I'd also argue that humanity as a whole is freer without wars than with them.
Haha. I'm sorry, but that's the bulls**t they've fed you. Do some research. War isn't peace, and it always starts with a person(s) looking to control by taking freedom from others. And the taxes he's looking to get rid of certainly do not benefit the majority of the people. They benefit the rich.
Was that sarcasm? Because it would have been pretty good sarcasm. I mean really, think about all the benefits we get from our taxes: $315 Million Bridges in Alaska to islands with 50 inhabitants, No Child Left Behind, FEMA, The War On (Some) Drugs, The War On Freedom, The War Of Terror, The War(s) On Petroeuros, the $200 Billion fiber optic debacle, the NSA illegally wiretapping all of America, and that's only scratching the surface of the past decade. Go back a little farther and find eugenics, internment camps, the insolvent intergenerational robbery and ponzi scheme that is social security (complete with ultra-regressive taxation structure and useless, privacy-killing social security numbers), the prison industrial complex and God only knows what secret programs that we'll never even hear about. Yeah, that's your tax dollars at work right there. We could never do without any of that stuff.
