techcrunch.com — Online news site Newsvine, which launched in March 2006, was acquired by MSNBC.com, a fift-fifty joint venture between Microsoft and NBC. The deal was all cash, but the acquisition price is not being disclosed. Both companies are based in Seattle.

Can you blame them. Paidcontent is reporting it sold between 5 to 7 million. Perhaps minus the 1.5m they got from the VC.

I stopped using Newsvine, because it wasn't about news but simply about the US right against the US left and vice versa.Just look at their top stories, it's always about Bush, abortion, iraq, christanity, anti-muslim, gay-marriage, global warming etc etc. Everyday, all year long. Even if you look in the science category the only stories with comments are about evolution/intelligent design.
