gizmodo.com — We've got three separate accounts of people reporting that AT&T is forcing them to buy accessories along with their iPhone at three different AT&T stores. This was definitely not the case at Apple stores, and for several AT&T stores to decide this on their own to cash in on the launch is pretty damn shady.

Hmm, well, maybe if the IPhone wasn't such a massive marketing campaign to sell substandard functionality to the gullible masses, you wouldn't be hearing it so often?

I'm a rep with AT&T in KY. I was there on what we called iDay. I can tell you nobody in our store told any customers that accessories were mandatory. But ask yourself this. If you're spending 600 on a device with a 3.5 inch screen, why not at least get a case to throw the bad boy in? It really just depends on the market you are in and how aggressive the managers are on their reps. We're one of the busiest stores in our market, the largest in fact, and we're pretty fast. We had about 30-40 people in line, and they were all out by 6:40. We were also busier yesterday than we were on Friday.... Silly stuff.

In the US, what phone has a touch screen and WiFi? None. However, I actually prefer the Nokia N80 because it's less expensive, also has WiFi (and Skype!) and you're not bound to NS&A. It is not, however, a phone.

Ahhh, duh.... In case you haven't noticed, cell phones are about how much crap can we unload on each subscriber so we can suck them dry every month. My wife and I each has a cell phone for emergency calls on to contact each other. The cheapest I could find is a $60 a month plan for both phone. It is very hard to find a basic plan and impossible to get a phone that is just a phone. This is why the world is technically ahead of America, because we are weight down by the big companies that want to bleed every last dollar from a technology before they are willing to advance..

LOL, I'm digging this one because it's absolutely hilarious.Anyone willing to plunk that kind of money on the latest hype-widget deserves this kind of treatment. Let me guess, a good number of people went ahead and bought the extras even though they knew flat-out that they were being shaken down.

I was there with my daughter who is twelve. I bought one for her and one for myself. AT&T told me "one per person" and I asked for clarification and the lady who was out talking to us in line told me that my daughter and I were two separate people and we could therefore buy two phones even though I would be paying for them together.
