thesmokinggun.com— A South Carolina boy, 12, was arrested Sunday morning after his mother called police to report that he had unwrapped a Christmas present without her permission.

How can you blame this mom for calling the cops ten years ago it would have been solved with a belt and a grounding (and would not have been abuse if done right) in this day you try to correct your kid you get charged with child abuse would you rather have a little Ahole who gets away with more and more till he burns down a house some place or something?
This all happened in the town I'm "living" in currently for college. I know that they're working hard to catch the guy that keeps attacking women on campus here...but arresting a kid for this? Seriously.
Sigh.., I used to discipline my own four children, by removing toys (for a short period), setting easy rules, incenctives for proper behavior and such... Then my teen called child protective services on me and reported me falsely for child abuse. Next two of my kids spent a year and a half in foster homes and I shelled out around $10000 in legal fees. In foster care, the kids learned about teen pregnancy, sex, and drugs. One was overdosed by a medicaid quack doc to the point of throwing up continuously and being unable to stand, until I could arrainge a second opinion by a speciallist two weeks later (I had to search for a speciallist so I wouldn't be accused of medical neglect as well). One was also beaten by another foster child, and recieved head injuries. Now I just call the cops. Judge me as you will, I tried the correct way, the "I know how to parent better than you" crowd refused to work with me. You can be a perfect parent, but you're not the only influence on a growing child. I stand by this mother's actions. When you can't handle a family member, sometimes it's best to call the authorities before the authorities are called on you. At least by calling the police, she has a record of what happened, instead of the child making up something untrue about it later.
Oh, and I don't believe it was a waste of taxpayer's money. It was probably the effect of taxpayer's laws that made the mother unable to discipline the child properly from the beginning. Anyway, nobody here is judge or jury to this case. We don't know what's going on in this family. So, nobody here should have the right to judge the mother. Other's judging of the mom could have created the problem.P.S. I'm also from SC. So I know what it's like here.
Return game to store and buy something nice for selfGive game to charityHide game in first damn place so he doesn't know...and "Santa" brings it the night beforetell him he isn't getting it EVER. Then give it at Christmas. Say Christmas is for babies anyway, take down all the decorations, send back ALL the gifts and buy something for self. Say Christmas is banned FOREVER in this house...Tell him you will put him in foster care if he doesn't behave, but never follow thru....a kin to gonna sell you down the river as my mother said.Tell him to earn it....that's right. Take it away and make him earn it back through labor.Since he is sooo grown up to disobey, he should be grown up enough to move out...and tell him to get a job.Not all of these are perfect. But ALL are better than calling the cops.
play station gameboy? apparently the mother was retarded...yes, she was, because then she had her own child arrested for opening a present early...wow, what a world...i wonder what she'd do if he killed someone
Even though it's old news (not to mention that it's too early for Christmas), that mother gave the phrase "Do not open until Christmas" a novel twist for her son! That Christmas, he received a limp of coal from santa instead of his Gameboy, I conjecture!
