boxofficemojo.com — BoxOfficeMojo.com is predicting that Serenity will be the #1 movie following this weekend. Having seen the movie for myself this afternoon, you'll want to check it out even if you've never seen the TV show, Firefly. Simply put, its a great movie, filled with funny and memorable moments.

Heh. Way to go out there on a limb. What else are people going to see? Into the Blue?

I saw Serenity opening night, it was awesome! Highly recommended, even if you haven't seen Firefly, as Huze mentioned. I hope it does really well. I'm seeing it again in a few days.

"anyone else think that joss wheaton isn't that great of a writer? I watched several episodes of buffy and angel and it seemed like a simplistic and childlike set up dialog clips...might rent serenity when it comes out on dvd"I agree. Yes this will send his legions of sex slave fan boys into hysterics. I always thought his dialogue was contrived . I saw serenity and it's ok. Nothing more than that. An ok, slightly above B movie sci-fi. Wait for it on dvd or tv.

i like that web page but it has no chance to be number 1

great movie, our friends really enjoyed it.

I didn't get a chance to see it yet but I plan to. However, I'd consider some random dude's website the LAST place to check boxoffice forecasts though. That was for *LAST* weekend. And he was off by 50% as Serenity made $10 million. Before digging things like this people should actually rtfa or check their facts.

dodger2020, that's not a random "dude", BoxOfficeMojo is to box office tracking as IMDB is to movie databases. However, this prediction has already proved to be wrong on SUNDAY when weekend estimates showed Serenity was at #2.I don't understand why you people CONTINUE to digg this. This was proven to be incorrect THREE f**kING DAYS AGO.

doesn't matter how you spell his name...he is still a weak writer/director... there is much better out there...the scifi world is reeling from disappointment in their flagships: Star Wars (III was good) and Star Trek (last good one was first contact)...The scifi shows on TV are better than just about any scifi in the theaters...BSG to name just one...We are in a void for good big screen scifi, so we are willing to compromise and fall in love with mediocre movies (what was the last GREAT scifi movie, Battlefield Earth?)
