It's always about the money... If wifi was "an 'unacceptable potential risk' to communications gear used by the state police and the Transportation Security Administration", wouldn't the for-pay wifi already be screwing up said gear? It's sickening, absolutely ludicrous.
competition? how dare they? they can beat our insanely high price, so rather than lowering our price to compete we'll just call them a security risk and tell them to get the hell out. what could be worse than someone giving something out for free? how unamerican is that? we're supposed to pay way too much for everything, not get it for free. this excuse will never work. all continental has to do is point out that the airport also sells wifi. if continetal is a security problem then so is the official airport wifi and therefore either both or neither should be banned. free wifi should be encouraged. if you're worried about the big companies here, they're fine. they arent losing money. continental still pays them for the broadband access. what they do with it is their business. and if they want to let their paying customers use it thats fine.
That's right..Capitalism actually supports Continental airlines with the free wifi.wifi attracts more customers = more business.but ....when there is more money involved (Logan/Comcast) capitalism turns against the other.sad but true my friends

Sorry, the above isn't a snippet from the proposal obviously, just the commentary on it. I'm having a little trouble with the copy and paste today.
