techdirt.com — In the wake of Boston's massive overreaction to some harmless blinking LED signs, the city's mayor, Thomas Menino, apparently wants to ban guerrilla marketing, which he calls a "nitwit technique." It's good to see the guy's nothing if not consistent -- though it's too bad that he seems to be consistently hyperbolic.

Boston isn't a f**kin' state, nitwit.

I wouldn't call panicking over blinking billboards that have been up for 2 weeks, acting at all. Had they been bombs, Boston would be dead. The only thing they are pissed about, is how foolish they look. This is proof that you are not protected at all. 2 weeks to act on a potential threat? LOLGood thing everybody was smart enough to realize they were not a threat, or intended to be so. Well, everybody except that one person who called the cops, and the bomb squad, and the mayor, and the media who reported a suspicious "hoax" where "packages" are placed around town. People need to stop watching so much TV and get educated. Who did they think was attacking Boston, the f**king Riddler from Batman? Grow the f**k up. You are not living in a movie. Stop living your life around 9/11 pussy.

@mcvarmaziTry watching any non-american news channel. It's everywhere, whole world laughs at Boston.

I wonder who is stupider, the two who went on this blinking sign rampage or the profesional people who overreacted to it.

Question: How would you react if you see a box with blinking LEDs attached to a hull of a greenpeace ship. Will you dismiss it as an innocent joke?
