The real question is why pay a royalty in the first place? Royalties are nothing more than a means of exacting additional revenue after something has been paid for. Does GM get a percentage of any revenue when their vehicles are used for commercial purposes? Does the architect that designed a building get a percentage of the rents earned by that building? Royalties are nothing but a scam.
