I got back from Iraq Last November - And this is exactly what I hateto see: Cynical, Apathetic commentaries from people who are so politicallycharged they could give a s**t less what happens to me here in the states, but the moment I goto Iraq i am somehow more important or I am chalkedup to a headcount of dead brethern. You guys want to save someone?Save yourselves from your own self-loathing.And that's MECHANIZED INFANTRY.. assh**e.
There's no such thing as a bomb-proof vehicle. Make a big enough bomb, string a few 155mm HE rounds together, make a platter charge utilizing the miznay-chardin effect... anyway, even an Abrams tank can be severely damaged or destroyed if you have enough explosives in the right place. That's what anti-tank mines are for. Cool new vehicle, but a bit of a misnomer in calling it bomb-proof. +Digg
Everyone I know that's in the army/marines is in it because they don't know what to do after high school and they get paid to use guns (Cool) and jump out of planes, not because they're patriotic.Anyway, these vehicles are cool and I do hope they save lives. I also hope they stay on the battlefield, I can picture pimped out versions of this on the street in the future.

And Earth-friendly at 4.5 MPG for the Buffalo (aren't most armored vehicles rated in gallons/mile?)

I wouldn't call any vehicle "bomb-proof." That's like claiming your software is hacker-proof (Oracle comes to mind).

Bomb-RESISTANT. Not proof. What if you get hit with a missle? Then you're pretty much f**ked.

Bomb proof? This is for mines not IED's.

Too little, too late.
