miaminewtimes.com — The meat isn't what's advertised. It's not the product of cattle raised in the Hyogo Prefecture of Japan that in some cases drink beer and receive sake massages. Moreover, its listing on menus is an apparent violation of federal standards and state law.(Whaddya wanna bet it's not just happening in Miami?)

But it's not overpriced, it's just that you can't mass produce it cheaply

@ProjectGSX Any chef I know worth their salt knows where the meat they source comes from, including me. I get mine from Harvey in South Western Australia, I've been down to the farms there and spoken to the farmers, and I know exactly how the cows are fed and treated. Fair enough, the average person might not be able to do that in the USA, but as @andyb747 mentions, your country has procedures in place that *should* help the consumers make the right buying decisions.
