engadget.com — The big new trend among wargadget makers seems to be the elimination of the fleshy operator, and we're seeing it happening with helicopters, boats, and even space shuttles. The Phantom Ray is Boeing's take on how we can do the same to jet fighters.

I thought the Starbuck story was pretty obvious, personally. She was a messenger/"angel" sent by the same higher/natural power that sent head Gaius and head Six. She served her purpose as the harbringer of death, that is, she lead the humans and Cylons to a place to live where their individuals species would intermix and cease to exist as separate species, and once that purpose was served, the messenger form of Starbuck no longer needed to exist. It's a common theme used in angel/spirit/aetheral messenger character stories.

Yalla:No, you don't see the "big picture". You don't have the authority or jurisdiction to decide what a private or publicly traded company does with it's own money and resources. In order to have that control, it's called Socialism, where "the people" own the company. Regardless, the government, or other industry will be buying their products, and just like auto manufacturers, they need to keep projects alive to stay on top of technology. Little "shows" like this keep their customer base aware of the potential they have available and what can be done with it. It keeps the money coming in so people don't get "unemployed".I you don't like what Boeing or GE, Lockheed, Raytheon, etc., are doing with their $$, buy stock in them, from your allowance, until you have a controlling share, and then you can vote at the share holder meetings. Then, you have the right to determine how they spend their money and whether you will get any back.
