I can play guitar decently. Nothing to brag about or anything. Anyway, girls don't seem to care. So, it isn't the guitar alone that gets chicks, no matter how beautifully you play. There's some missing link. Like personality, which I apparently don't have. Also, I have zero formal music training, but I can play guitar and sing in time and in key, as well as harmonize with other music. However, I wasn't able to follow him at all in the video. I think my personal musical discoveries have reprogrammed those parts of my brain. That, or I'm retarded. Probably a bit of both.
And keep it company.BTW, I don't know if you realized this when you picked that song, rac1234, but it only uses notes from the pentatonic scale, which is pretty rare to begin with without the coincidence. O_o
i think this is the first time in my "digg" history that i can actually say i learned something from other diggers comments! thank you, it's nice to know that not everyone talks like a f**king moron.
But McFerrin does influence the people!! Surely he doesn't realiza, but he does. First, he starts with two notes that are, casually, C and D (do and re). All we know the diatonic scale, it is the one teachers teached us in the school (and if you don't remember that, you will remember Maria -Julie Andrews- singing it in "The sound of music"). Casually, the third note that people sing is the next one in this scale, E (mi). But how justify what happens after, the people singing in the pentatonic scale? Well, again McFerrin influences them, as he starts to improvise, to sing over public's melody, and this gives public a key, a tonality. They tend to sing accompanying the music, with notes that harmonicaly fit well with McFerrins melody.Maybe I'm wrong, but the experiment should be repeated without McFerrin singing.

I didn't bury this, I'd just rather digg the original.
