Also, you have to consider that this is coming from a site that has 'PS3' right in their domain name. It's a Playstation site. Now, I'm not saying their numbers are wrong, but it's not altogether unlikely that they "accidentally" may have included PS3 games and all the Talladega Nights disks in with those figures to give the Blu-ray numbers a boost.
Two things are going to save HD DVD:1. Lower cost always wins out. By the end of this year we're going to start seeing HD DVD players hit $200 with a movie library robust enough to make it worth it, while BD players will still be over $500. We're also going to be seeing the big PC people adding HD DVD drives to mass-market PCs, whereas Blu-ray will still be in the mid-range.2. Porn. 'nuff said, really. The HD-DVD/Blu-Ray battle will probably rage for another year, at least until the VHS sales finally peter out completely. The driving factor for HD/Blu content now is HDTV sales. As people get on board with the new formats, these sales figures are still minor compared to the total percentage of DVD sales... in another year, that will be another holiday season to push these new technologies to consumers and begin really educating the people about the formats. Ultimately though, Joe Consumer will pick whatever the sales droid at Best Buy pushes. In this case, its Blu-Ray everywhere.
