Varchild, if only 217 people opposed this war, those of us involved in CODEPINK and other peace movements would not have THOUSANDS showing up for our marches in Washington, DC. :-)
@FairygoatfatherHe doesn't seem afraid... rather, he seems rational. I also find it to be overly optimistic to believe they could get 1 million bloggers on their side. Of course, nothing is stopping them from cheating, and the government doesn't care whether there are a billion bloggers who hate the war. They can have fun while it lasts, though.
Please post this in your blogs and join if we want to help reach this goal. I'm not quite naive enough to believe that we can stop the war with this one small effort, but every voice added is important. Call/write your congressmen, sign petitions, protest, write, blog, read, support.
The war on terror - particularly the Iraq War - is increasing the likelihood of more terrorist attacks on the scale of September 11, a major academic study says today. "Treating Iraq as part of the 'war on terror' only spawned new terror in the region and created a combat training zone for jihadists," it says.>>>>The US is "increasingly viewed as the greatest threat to world peace", it adds
Please don't forget that the people we are fighting killed three thousand U.S. citizens September 11, 2001. They think that the death of American/Christians will get them to heaven. They believe this so full-heatedly that they will have women that are pregnant and mentally retarded people strap bombs to them and detonate them in streets killing non-combatants. Being an ex-veteran you should know this.

Just a few pro-soldier, anti-war statements on why we oppose the continued occupation of Iraq.* Bring the soldiers home and treat them well: http://www.wvablue.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=157* A harsh, powerful anti-war video: http://www.wvablue.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=149* Tin Soldier: http://www.wvablue.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=162
