andrewolmsted.com — "I'm dead. That sucks, at least for me and my family and friends. But all the tears in the world aren't going to bring me back, so I would prefer that people remember the good things about me rather than mourning my loss. (If it turns out a specific number of tears will, in fact, bring me back to life, then by all means, break out the onions.)"

Somehow, this war that is strange to me (I'm from Argentina), it isn't now.As someone post before, you can hate Bush, but you must agree and support those few good men of the A.A.RIP, warrior. You are the reason men are called that way

The beauty of digg comments system is that we can bury replies made by useless assh**es such as yourself. Pretty nifty, huh?

It's a quote from the movie Dazed and Confused. I was joking, no offense meant. :)

Few things make me cry, but this had me choking back tears, although I've never heard of this man. I truly feel for his family & friends and wish them well.I'm also thinking of the rest of the men & women put in harms way and hope that things change damn soon.

From one veteran to another: "You have made the ultimate sacrifice, one that I cannot begin to understand nor comprehend. To your family and friends I offer my condolences. To you, I offer the only thing I can - a salute to your memory and what you stand for."

80k to 88k civilian deaths in Iraq from http://www.iraqbodycount.org/database/And 3,941 military personnel as of Jan 30th 2008 from USA today. http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/casualties ...Simply amazing to think about while on my second deployment(this one for 15 months). Although deaths are few and far between, they hit our hearts with deep impact. These numbers are staggering. But compared to the death of everyone yearly 2,397,615 (in 2004, most recent I could find on a whim) http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/deaths.htm this is actually quite low. Although these men are honored and rightfully so, we still have a more significant chance of dieing in some other way once we return home. We are not in as much danger as most think, although our lifestyle is rough. But we did volunteer to do something that no one else wants to. Or at least we think we did. Thoughts and prayers to everyone that has lost a loved one to this situation. Politics aside, we have faced many sad loses.
