I'm so post-blog now... I get all my information on what's cool directly from the only people that really matters to me, myself and my friends. I love services like LastFM, mostly because it helps to avoid the marketing sleaze.
A perfect example of this is an upcoming band Boyce Avenue who began their career on YouTube and are now touring around the country and Europe. It is truly amazing to see the progression of the power social media has.
