privoxy.org — Install Privoxy. In Chrome click on the wrench, "Options", "Under the Hood", "Change Proxy Settings", "LAN Settings", check "Use a Proxy Server", IP: 127.0.0.1, Port: 8118. This will block everything other than google text ads.

Thanks this has been one of the reasons to stick with Firefox. Now the only reason would be that I CANNOT scroll DOWN!!! Rather annoying, but should be fixed in the next release I would think.

This works well, but how do I set it so the ad-removed message doesn't show up everytime? It's just as bad as the ads themselves. Well, almost.
