blender.org— These are the nominations and winners of the third annual Suzanne awards, this year entirely devoted to animations created in Blender. I like the one with snoopy.

To those who decry the interface of Blender: A complicated task requires complicated tools. If you are going to be a blacksmith you will learn to use the tools of a blacksmith.
"That's no excuse for poor interface design. Blender is an awesome application with some definite strong points and amazing coding, but it definitelly has some non-intuitive quirks that put it at a disadvantage."So then vim must suck too? Just because something is more intuitive that doesn't make it better.
> That's no excuse for poor interface designBut it isn't poor, it's just hard to learn. Ease of use for beginners is just one point in a long list of things to rate a UI on.Now I've learned it, I can get much more work done than with other more normal 3D tools -- if it takes a couple of months to learn, then cuts 25% off my work time for as long as I'm using it (a couple of years so far), then it's been worth the effort.
The Penguin is okay. I'll stick with Lightwave. Emmy Award winning software That's tons cheaper than Maya or 3DSMax, especially if you're using a render farm. Best 3D software out there IMHO, shame Alias pays everyone to not say they use it.

ROFLThe "snoopy one" is by the guy who also did the "Watching All 6 Star Wars Simultaneously" project.

Awesome stuff... I really need to sit down and force myself through some tutorials for Blender.

Those animations are awesome - the artists behind them really deserve some credit.
