brighthand.com — This spring, an industrial designer named Jaren Goh unveiled a concept design for a truly bleeding-edge, luxury smartphone. Because this device would so expensive, no one really expected him to find any customers. Surprisingly, though, a European company has put in an order for five of them. Price: $300,000.00.

This is hardly bleeding edge; no EDGE, no touchscreen, LCD instead of OLED, hardly stellar amount of RAM, no mention of Bluetooth... the $300,000 gets you a pretty plastic toy with diamonds, something for the bored and rich to parade around their equally bored and rich friends who are all too aware of the price.

spend $300,000 on mediocre phone or buy a few houses for some less fortunate familiesor feed a few thousand starving childrenor give some underprivileged students some scholarship moneythe human race truly is disgusting sometimes

OLED screens have a much shorter lifespan than any other type of display, so I'd say the LCD screen is a plus, not a minus..OTOH, that's really insignificant given the rediculous cost, and frivolous use of diamonds, which after all, could be blood diamonds.Stupid idea, stupid buyers too.

I think it's bleeding edge because you could cut your hand on the diamonds.

yeah, i have an HTC BlueAngel. i have no clue what all names it goes by. there's nothing wrong with the device, it's great. the wlan menu is horribly broken. i ranted in another digg post, if you look at my history you'll find it.
