mashable.com — It was announced today that China’s leading college social networking site has been acquired for an undisclosed sum. That sounds reasonable, since the Chinese social networking space is growing fast. But I was shocked to load up the site and see that it’s an exact clone of Facebook.

I have a feeling they either bought rights to it or they are going to face some kind of legal action/pressure to change.

Here in Germany students enjoy a very cheap Facebook rip-off: <a class="user" href="http://www.studivz.net">http://www.studivz.net</a> It looks like Facebook just in red color. They stole the complete layout. Some blogger published a nice javascript line, which incorporates the original CSS file into the clone site and it matches perfectly. That is so lame... I hope they get sued!

huh... i wonder if they also have the facebook stalker feature that comes in very handy when you want to know EVERYTHING about EVERYONE that you couldn't care less about... the only thing is that their stalker feature would prolly be run by the government.

Actually they're not big on copyright law from any county, even their own. Hear about the Baby Formula fiasco a few years back in which fake milk of a Chinese brand ended up maiming over 10,000 babies.
