There are all sorts of dialects out there with terrible grammar. Take traditional Newfoundland English, for example... Luckily, schools teach proper Canadian English grammar (at least in the city).
It is simply awful to see the comments on this page and realize the intolerance and ignorance of those on here. However the worst part is the blunt superiority most feel...that speaking "their" way is the "proper" way. Then they rationalize it by saying "but you get better jobs" etc. This only makes the problem of discrimination worse. Forcing a group to conform/unwillingly integrate into another group's set of "standards"? Sounds familiar to me. The last thing that language is is "set in stone." That is why grammar books are re-written every year, and words/pronunciations are changed every year in the dictionary. It absolutely scares me that people can say things like "learn to speak proper english" and not feel at all terrible for being such a linguistic supremacist.

Theres over 20 distinct dialects in America, yet a video seeking to "correct" about a predominately African-American dialect gets over a thousand diggs. wtf ever. The blatant racism of digg is sickening
I like this idea quite a bit. It doesn't seem offensive and it is not asking blacks to abandon their slang but to adopt a more oxford style language for those professional situations.
