"the black race"? ummm last I checked we are all the same race, HUMAN. Why is the word race used to describe your ethnicity? We are all the same damn race. Is it because ethnicism is tougher to say? I don't get it.
Wow. First of all, it doesn't encourage racial profiling because police officers still have to have a legit reason to pull someone over. Just as we all have to carry our driver's licenses, so do they. There's nothing unfair about that. This was already federal law but was not enforced. Also, The vast majority of legal Mexican Americans in Arizona supported this bill so that completely nullifies your argument. Second, you're saying that the illegals who take the jobs that Americans supposedly wouldn't do deserve to steal from the American taxpayers? What a crock of s**t. I guarantee that any American would rather be making $10-$12 an hour working hard labor rather than working for minimum wage in some f**king fast food. There's no jobs that Americans are not willing to do that Mexican are. To suggest so is.. omg.. discrimination. You must be one of those racists. Anyways, these people choose to work for the amount of money they work for. Americans don't choose to have money stolen from them to support these people. There's a HUGE difference. Besides, in this kind of depression, jobless Americans will take whatever they can get. But they can't because illegals have those jobs.I live in a town where the majority is Mexican Americans and illegal immigrants. More than half of the people that go to the hospital here never pay a dime. My girlfriend is an x-ray tech and a ultrasound tech and sometimes the illegal immigrant women who are pregnant fake illness so they can try to ask the ultrasound techs for pictures of the baby "since they are there anyways". They know they won't have to pay a dime and the costs will end up going to higher prices for the people who actually pay. The schools have to spend the first few years teaching the children of illegals how to speak English. I could go on and on. The Mexican Americans are completely against this sort of behavior as well. They put those people in a completely different class. A Mexican American friend of mine says he has no sympathy or respect for the illegals who have been here 10+ years and still refuse to learn English and I couldn't agree with him more./rant
The gentleman appeared to be upset, yes. But he didn't support his statements well. For example, the pending Arizona law states that law enforcement "may not consider race, color or national origin" when carrying out the law. This appears to be in line with Dr. King's desire that his children will live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.Arizona's pending law is more in line with Dr. King's dream than California's existing 834b immigration law that does allow racial profiling.
I was an economics minor in college. Payments are based on demand AND supply. The illegals increase the supply which lowers the price. However a economic model does not necessarily apply. Americans will only work for minimum wage, illegals work for less than that in addition to not requiring any sort of benefits. Clearly americans don't want the jobs illegals do because if they did, they could do the same thing of standing outside home depots looking for daily labor. Instead they collect welfare checks from the government. If you really want to be hammering down on free-riders why don't you go after them? But no, America decided long ago that we would fight for low class and try to take people out of horrible working conditions (Unionizing the factories and such). There are advantages and disadvantages of that which I'm not going to get into, but its the way we are.
$5,000 fine so that you can get away with paying someone $10k illegally while it would cost $20k to pay a legal employee to do the same job? Sounds like a plan.
