If sunspots do play a critical role in controlling our climate, this graph is extremely interesting. We're currently in period of maximum sunspot activity compared to the last 400 years. But this obviously doesn't explain the warming since 1950. If sunspots dramatically decrease for an extended time like they have before, we could be looking at cooler temperatures for the next decade or two.
