"First, you complain about spending $20 a month to download ALL your movies, music and TV eps?"Nope, I say the advantages of Usenet (Speed) over the advantages of Bittorrent (Free, convienent, simple to automate) isn't worth paying for in my opinion. Paying to download illegal content ("for free") seems a bit silly on a purely logical standpoint too (Although that's hardly a good argument against Usenet).."However...automated usenet for _free_:" - "Add giganews _pay service_" -> Err? Paid services don't count for a free Usenet setup.. And using your ISP's news server isn't always an option (My ISP's newsgroup service is terrible), where as Bittorrent works regardless of ISP (Short of those that shape torrent traffic, I doubt any have managed to effectively stop torrent traffic)"You must be a poor student, in which case you should be studying not watching TV" - Err, that's a fairly pathetic argument - Besides, if your that well off, why are you pirating anything at all?- Ben
I don't see why people are so scared to talk about the usenet, it has been and will continue to be untouchable, I don't care if the masses figured out how to use it cause that would mean more content to choose from. The usenet is the oldest file sharing medium on the net and NEWS FLASH you really aren't that special if you know how to use the usenet! BT will be dead and gone long before the usenet.
Usenet is a giant P.O.S. If any of you have used Usenet, you know why I'm saying this. To everyone else, Usenet is more expensive and you get the same thing as P2P. Usenet is how internet geeks make themselves feel more important and smarter than everyone else.
this is insane.. how can you people be complaining about speeds when using torrents? at 1.4 megs per second download on private trackers, I have got nothing to complain about. Learn how to configure your routers.. geez.
