It can't be terribly accurate, though I guess it is a decent visual example if you have no idea how BitTorrent works. I just tried three leechers and a seeder (seeder added last). Only two recieved any traffic, and now there are three seeders, one empty leecher, and no data transfer. (Which, as most people probably know, shouldn't happen.) I suspect that the applet's creator assumed BitTorrent was strictly tit for tat, which it isn't (strictly tit for tat causes slower speeds for everyone and can create situations where certain peers are given lower priority despite having above average upload speed).
