livescience.com — Birth-control pills could screw up a woman's ability to sniff out a compatible mate, a new study finds. While several factors can send a woman swooning, including big brains and brawn, body odor can be critical in the final decision, the researchers say.

Agreed. However, "incompatible mate" does not necessarily mean the guy's an assh**e. "Incompatible mate" is a relative term, "assh**e" isn't.

Once they get off the pill (to be able to have children) they're going to realize he's the wrong guy, get it?

Wow either teens must have changed a lot those ten years or its cultural difference between the Netherlands and the US, but me and my friends in highschool never even heard of endometriosis! I've been on BC since I was 14 for acne though, even though boys were at that time the last thing on my mind (I was a late-bloomer). There are much easier ways of getting on BC, just having a hard and irregular period will probably get you on BC. And believe it or now most girls really only DO take BC to control their periods. Because if you do have endometriosis the solution is not as simple as throwing some BC against it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endometriosis

What was his excuse?

Considering I learned this four years ago in a relationship psychology course, there's nothing new about this finding. The study, at best, corroborates what was already a well-researched topic. Buried.

well, that's absolutly right! birth control pills can have a lot of side effects, but we r to many onthis planet and we need to controll the situation somehow, so, why u should know is bad, we don't need u, and u better go away! that's the spirit! not daaam, we can make ppl suffer, no way, they don't think like that! no clean cut for them!

Um... no. Yes, the study is about picking mates, but the choice is based upon attraction. If you get together with someone and then you get back on the pill, the underlying theme of this data is that the attraction and relationship would change.

It only just dawned on me today - the reason I felt "nothing" with my new boyfriend last night, when its been amazing up until then. I am rather displeased with this finding because I dumped someone 6 months ago who I thought I was in love with, but time after time I had no spark.Damnit. I am stopping it today. There has to be other ways without f**king with my hormones. I usually have such a high sex drive, and last night I was like Meh, I dont care. Even today, Im like.. oh maybe I am not really into him, when I know I am CRAZY about him!
