After hearing about activation I am refusing to buy this game (PC). If they want to treat customers like thieves they won't be getting my business. Oblivion.. allows you to do a straight copy of the disc if you want. That's total trust, and I bought that game straight up. I'm sick of companies treating the consumer like a thief or pirate. They won't get my business.
Yeah, that'll teach 'em! Oh, wait.. Personally, I was going to buy the PC version, but now I'm going to wait for the inevitable "we give up" patch that un-cripples this game. You'd think these idiots would know better by now, all this does is discourage people from buying the game. The pirated version is actually better than the product you expect to charge money for!
I have reformatted my computer 3 times in its lifetime and still play old classic games. Not to mention, iTunes songs don't exactly remember that they have been activated and I will expect no more efficient a memory from bioshock.

Stores like Best Buy will not accept any sort of return or exchange on a video game for exactly this reason.
