It remains to be seen what will be done with La-La so that's just an ungrounded assumption, I think. You could mention that Apple bought a mobile device CPU company, an mobile ad company, and some things like that recently. Doesn't really fit your premise that Apple is claiming that it invented their inventions, though - nor does La-La.Microsoft bought a LOT of stuff that it sells as stand-alone products under its own brand:- MS-DOS (SCP-DOS)- MS SQL Server (Sybase SQL), FoxBase (bought the company)- FrontPage- Internet Explorer (Mosaic NCSA/Spyglass)- Microsoft C (Lifeboat C)The list goes on but you can dig up the rest with just a little research.I do think Microsoft deservers credit for Microsoft Word. Although putting in a macro feature with access sufficiently deep into the OS to write computer viruses inside documents with ease was probably not a good idea, the word processor as a whole seems rather decent. Microsoft didn't write the conversion filters, though. They are from a company that a lot of companies by their import/export filters from.VB is pretty much a knock off of HyperCard with BASIC replacing the HyperTalk scripting language. The web itself was invented on Steve Jobs' NeXT computer OS by Tim Berners-Lee, and Apple later acquired the OS when it reacquired Jobs as its CEO. Ironically, Jobs was fired from Apple by founding NeXT at exactly the right time to develop the OS that both saved Apple's butt in 2001 (to date) and was the genesis of the Web.Apple, especially when you lump Steve Jobs in as Apple, can legitimately lay claim to being responsible for a heck of a lot of the computer solutions we use today - and darned few of the problems.
Well actually your telling me how its SUPPOSED to work, it just doesn't work they way its supposed to, when MS can patent the word IsNot for the vb operator keyword, anything can be patented, perhaps there are just too many stupid examiners, any patent that uses confusing claim language should be rejected outright (in my opinion).
Yes with modern GUI's like those in Win7 it's much easier to use for touch screens and multi-touch as well. I think the biggest difference though between the old tablet PCs and the modern slate type devices is the capacitive screen. Even better is a few of them like the HP Slate / Hurricane that have capacitive screens for touching, but also support stylus's (styli?)@Antialias I know what you mean. I spend most of my day sculpting with a stylus and can't stand any normal computer type things with it, but I know some people who don't even bother with a mouse anymore and just use their Wacom stylus for everything.
