Or you could check out gasbuddy.com. Gives you the same information without the intrusion. But I don't think it has the same mapping features. Just a list of the best stations. The prices are reported wiki style buy the users. So there is no favoritism with contracted stations.

I think he was referring to the fuel economy of a specific car, not the price of fuel.
