something similar to the 2nd pic happened to me... i was jumping down from a curb and the front wheel came off... and i first though to my self... "oh s**t" then BAM the forks hit the ground and, Faceplant... i found the wheel across the street 3 doors down.
Some guy got killed on a bike like 100 feet away from where I work the other day, apparently he was ripped in half and bits of him were all over the road. Good thing the wall blocked that sight from me. So no, I don't recommend a bike.
