hothardware.com — Pretty incredible Network Interface Card (NIC): Quote -- "The company claims their product can improve ping times and frame-rates in many on-line games, and it's unique design opens up the possibility of running dedicated network apps with the help of its on-board processor and RAM. Take a look..." Comes bundled with F.E.A.R.

I am disturbed by this growing acknowledgement of on-line cheating as a market force. This NIC is a rather blatant attempt at profiting from people's bad manners. What's next, video cards that have built in wall hacks? I think we have found the elusive step 2!1) See people cheat at video games2) Sell devices that help them cheat3) Profit!

"When other gamers complain that your Ping is too low, adjust it a little higher until they stop whining. Then, dial it back down and go in for the kill!"What? This is just stupid. Its just an ethernet card with a few useless added features.

Yay, and we'll still get a whopping 100mbps connection from our hubs... woooo. Your NIC is only as fast as the upstream nodes are. It's called the "Funnel Effect" when your bandwidth starts off life with a fat pipe and ends up a soda straw in the end. Sure, it might have "amazing performance", but you know what... THEY'RE RIPPING YOU OFF!
