wolfb.com — I registered deusto.com in 1997. Now, eight years later, Planeta Agostini, one of the biggest publishing groups in Spain and owner of Ediciones Deusto, sends me letters demanding me to transfer them the domain, because they registered the trademark "deusto" in 2002 .Now they have presented a complaint to the WIPO and the domain is suspended.

I think your best bet is going to the EFF, going to the press, get this s**t out to as many big blogs as you can so your not left fighting this alone. Good luck man.

They shouldnt get your domain. They didnt register for a trademark until 2002 and you had it registered in '97. I say fight 'em or make them pay a lot of money.

Also to note in terms of legal issues was the whole "monster cable" thing -- monster sued just about anyone who used the word monster in their name, including monster.com.

By the way, I think this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Deusto has some information about another place called Desuto.

The Spanish wikipedia has info about Deusto at: http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deusto. The article you mention is about the University of Deusto, which is located in Deusto, yes.

"HEY LETS HELP THIS GUY OUT BY CLICKING ON ONE OF THE ADS ON HIS PAGE"-- Don't do it. Google could shut his account down if the suspect foul play. You could be hurting, not helping. Now if you just HAPPEN to see one or two ads you like... then that is different.
