Well then, maybe we should just exterminate about 80% of the world's population so that there will be less fighting, more food, and more resources per capita, and will be easier for our omniscient and loving New World Order government to control us all in every aspect of our lives in slavery! Oh wait a minute, they're already working on that...

I'm not sure why you're being dugg down on this. Cutting down on our dependence on foreign oil is a good thing. Reducing your utility bill is a good thing. Getting off the grid and thus being more independent of government regulations and interference is a good thing. Going Greener in order to stay Red White and Blue is not a bad thing. This isn't promoting the environmentalist agenda, this is giving Big Brother the finger.

"1) Intelligent Design" - has not been inserted into any scientific textbooks that I am aware of other than as a theory, when it may appear just as "evolution" is a theory, not a fact. Yet it is widely taught within the failing public education system without presenting other theories like Intelligent Design. I seriously challenge you to cite a public school science textbook with Intelligent Design included as anything but something to be dismissed."2) Several courthouses have been putting up visages of the commandments where none had existed before. No one can argue that our founder's weren't Christian. Society is changing though, and we will find that morality in a secular setting is indeed possible."What courthouses would these be? The Ten Commandments have been present in every courthouse , either on the exterior or interior or both since courthouses have been constructed in the US.As far as the argument that society is changing, I agree, it is. But whether or not it is changing for the good or not is certainly debatable. It is changing because of the secular humanist mentality that has prevailed in our culture, denying the existence of God , a lack of moral absolutes etc. And from what I can see, society's ills have multiplied as a result. So morality within a secular society isn't possible unless one's morality is an absence of it. Then one must also determine who or what should determine that "morality" - should those who think and believe as you do be the ones? Or will that violate the rights and morals of others? You DO have a god whether you admit to it or not. Granted, its not the God of the Universe Who is the only true God - your god is much smaller than that because it is the god of man's finite mind. The "morals" you promote have already begun to reap the whirlwind of moral decline throughout the world and historically, cultures cease to exist without them. So should YOUR god be the one to determine morality; I think not."So then you have no problem with gays marrying? They are a minority." Gays are not a minority. Homosexuality is a sinful behavioral choice. Marrying will not change that anymore than divorcing your husband/wife to marry the person that you are committing adultery with negates the sinful behavior. People are not born gay; they become gay for any number of psycho/social not to mention spiritual reasons and choose to act on their same-sex preference; which , the very term "preference" indicates choice. Homosexuals have the same rights as anyone else - they are free to marry anyone they choose of the opposite sex, work at any job they are qualified for etc. They do not qualify for minority status since it is a behavioral choice. Just like adulterers. They may not be the majority of society but that doesn't qualify them for minority status."4) I'm actually referring more to the programs going on in Africa, where evangelicals don't tell them about how to prevent the transmission of AIDs, except for total abstinence." And you would expect true evangelicals to teach something else when that is what they truly believe is the best prevention of AIDS and other std's - to refrain from immoral , sexual activity which is anything outside of marriage. You fail to mention how much charitable work is being done by evangelicals both in Africa and in the US regarding AIDS. Much more than any atheist organization. In fact, if it weren't for Christian charitable organizations, there would be no hospitals in most of the Third World since many are hindu and do not believe in interfering with one's kharma."5) I ask that you read the postings from WND.com and its commentaries when it denotes different points of view as evil. It's right there in front of your face. Yes, I've been called evil because I'm an atheist."I have read many of WND's postings and commentaries and have already apologized on behalf of those who claim the name of "Christian" and call those who are non-believers evil. There are many of my brethren who would never dream of doing such a thing and Joseph Farah , while he is probably a Christian, has not arrived and has plenty of room to grow just like the rest of us. Christians have been called all kinds of names by atheists, secular humanists and homosexual activists, including evil , stupid, bigoted etc. and that is just the tip of the iceberg. But I have yet to see a single one of them apologize for their behavior, as despicable as it is. Nor do I expect one. One can barely expect regenerate behavior from believers never-mind non-believers.Now, if something, an idea or a person, for example, the devil, IS evil, then one must call it what it is. Our secular society has made the use of the word "evil" evil because, from their viewpoint, all morality is relative so "evil" is non-existent. It's precisely what the Evil One has engineered to blind people to the moral morass that has beset our culture and as a result they call "evil" , "good" and "good" , "evil" - just as the Bible has stated.

Sad but true.

Sorry for not checking new comments for a long while. Two things. First, political correctness killed Common Sense. As far as closing doors when the heat or air-conditioning is on, not running/dripping the water, etc., it didn't directly kill that Common Sense. But it so virulently negated Common Sense in so many other aspect of life that people (especially the last 2 generations) have either disregarded or never even heard of or applied Common Sense. This spills over into environmental stewardship. I'm not wrong on this. It's no exaggeration. If you fail to see crossovers then you're not looking with clear vision.Second, to promote and maintain a clean environment while sustaining the economy means transitioning from a carbon-buning economy to a renewable energy economy. This is deliberately suppressed by the powers-that-be because they aren't done bleeding every last red cent out of the carbon-based fuels they ration out to the nearly mindless masses. It not so much the fault of the masses that they are mindless. They've been severely dumbed-down deliberately in taxpayer-funded, godvernment mis-run publik skools. We're not to learn how to think. It's strictly forbidden. We're told what to think. And with the coming of unjust Hate Crime "laws" and the attendant Though Police (see "Minority Report", read "1984" by George Orwell, the prophet), soon we shall be COMMANDED what to think. And, we are NOT to think about forms of alternative energy that controllers of society are not ready or willing to let reach the Free Market.Visit www.FreeSolarPanels.com and do a www.scroogle.org search for Lt. Col. Tom Bearden official website, www.cheniere.org and read about all the environmentally-friendly suppressed technology. Also, visit http://www.apfn.org/apfn/shadow.htm and read the very brief descriptions of various "black ops" criminal godvernment research (bankrolled by present AND FUTURE taxpayers) to see how much is done in areas of alternative energy such as nuclear fusion, electromagnetism, anti-gravity, anti-matter, and other technologies. It can be harnessed for good as well as war & destruction. But, the powers-that-be are biased toward evil. There's that word you dislike. You can't deny war & destruction is evil, thus so are those cattle-chuting efforts in that direction; at very best only their behavior is evil, albeit a statement about each decision-maker.Nick, you've drawn lots of fire and digging down on this thread. I'm not a fellow atheist. I won't bash you because you say you are. That's between you and the LORD on Judgment Day. I agree that atheists can be ethical and moral. I agree they can be and some are good people. Just like people from any background whatever it may be. I even agree with some of your thinking on environmental stewardship. Humankind bears responsibilities in that regard. But, the great masses are cattle-chuted to do the wrong things by the very limited choices widely available to us. If alternatives were made widely available, popularized, in fact, most people would be good and do the right things for the environment. As you note, many businesses are not so responsible, with few exceptions. On this we disagree: a criminal godvernment (one that flagrantly & repeatedly breaks its Constitution) should NOT be thrust into the void to enforce morality as it pertains to the environment. How can a morally bankrupt entity dictate good morals? It can't. There will be conflicts of interest, corruption or worse. Alternatives in the Free Market are the answer. Not criminal protection of the powers-that-be.

You have mandatory brainwashing into the perversion of the cult of queerdom as "a preferred lifestyle" and the attendant sexualization of single-digit-aged school toddlers. It's now "law" signed by Ahnold the Barbarian. This aligns with the plank of the communist manifesto that proclaims people to be a resource owned by the Big Brother state. Tell me how that is not sovietized or socialist. The late great state of Kaleefornya is overrun and occupied by a preponderance of INVADERS in its southern-most 150-200 miles. It is appropriately called Mexifornia. LA is controlled by political hacks disloyal to the original intent of the California state Constitution and the formerly sovereign USA. These political hacks are administrators of a reclaimed northern state of Mexico; part of the Atzlan Reconquista. Don't ask me to do your homework. Many state and local political hacks are on public statements are public domain records proclaiming their loyalties to their ancestral Mexican nation. They've even told "white people" to move out if they don't like the reclaimed Mexifornia. Now, before you accuse me of racism and ask how this applies to being waaaay down the Soviet Socialist path, many OCCUPYING INVADERS live off the public dole. By definition, that is redistribution of wealth. That happens as results of centralized powers scheming to steal from some to give to others. Such godvernment-sanctioned theft (at gunpoint, figuratively and/or literally) is sovietization to take wealth to redistribute it to others as handouts by the Big Brother nanny state (socialism). If you are who I suspect you are, Nick (DaveC), you already know these facts and arguments. Wasting time reiterating them with you is pointless. You won't change. Neither will I.

One of the people involved in the "gassing through vents" scenario taking place in Fresno (and ???) is the father of a local FBI agent - he repeatedly talked of an impending disaster, which would leave everyone dead. The operation accompanies felony altering of sewer/water/power infrastructures being covered up - nothing less than terrorism. For this reason, I would consider adding remote control chips to our thermostats as possible plans for one of the most horrific and barbaric disasters imaginable. Regardless of how much more costly it would be, it may be time to go back to window air conditioning and space heaters.
