biggovernment.com — Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ) decided to stand up to the Obama administration with one of the strongest weapons at his disposal - he halted Senate votes on Treasury Dept. nominees. Sadly, Kyl took this action over online poker (which he opposes), and the regulation delay that upsets him so is one requested by his fellow GOP lawmakers.

Hehe. Too bad Kyl wouldn't get the sarcasm and would think you were agreeing with him.

Kyl is attempting to dictate morality. Just like every other dictator, his quest for moral purity will fail. As a registered Republican, I do not want him dragging the party down with his personal moral crusade. Holding up Treasury nominations for his own pet project is tantamount to treason. While I do not agree with any of Obama's policies, hampering their ability to get people confirmed at the Treasury will hurt the whole nation. We need more effective regulation and oversight of the existing laws that were trampled on by Wall Street.
