laist.com — Beverly Hills holds the distinction of being #1 in the State of California for pedestrian deaths. It also is responsible for one of the most gridlocked stretches in the LA area. Yet, bicyclists get attacked, ticketed and harassed.

You can't keep up with the human race. Terminate yourself.

And in that situation, I like to shove a broomstick in your spokes and laugh.

In one sentence you talk about it being crucial to go faster than 10mph, and in the next ask why others are in such a damn hurry anyway.I have to say your argument isn't all the convincing.

In chicago, I've seen bicyclists get pulled over for running a red light... albeit it doesn't happen often.

that sucks you got hit. out of curiousity, do you now wear a proper helmet instead of one of those pansy half helmets? if so, good on ya. if not, i'd suggest it after the next time you get hit if you manage as well. 7 stitches is nothing, you got a second chance.

you carry a broomstick in your car?

The majority don't follow the laws. I would guess 1 in 10 actually obey the traffic laws.Suffer the one for the many. It is sad that we must sacrifice one to teach the masses but life isn't always fair.

I actually agree with your last fact, i've got a rather handsome scar on my chin from pavement / jaw interaction, hence why i wear a downhill MTB helmet at all times. That said, SUV's ARE more dangerous: <a class="user" href="http://environment.guardian.co.uk/waste/story/0,,1845949,00.html">http://environment.guardian.co.uk/waste/story/0,,1845949,00.html</a>'Statistics show that people involved in an accident with an SUV are more likely to die or suffer serious injury than with an ordinary car.'

Bikes are the archetype of freedom, unlike cars. If we want to preserve that freedom bikes shouldn't have to be licensed. Plus I skip a lot of lights on a bike, because I hate cars. it's your fault for taking up more space, more energy, more life, more fun out of everything. I ride my bike so one cars can be annoyed & then give up on driving. If you share the road with me & let me pass I'll be happy with you. Also I wish I could digg you down put I gave you 1 digg. And stop using the word Bulls**t. Penn & Teller are great "performance artists" (hey they can't be called magicians) but there show is biased toward the libertarian view, or the Socially progressive & Fiscally capitalist view.

Well New York (city) streets are crowded so even if it would be legal people will stlll ride on the road.

ratherplayhalo: shut up bus services suck because they have to interact with you & all your other car driving assh**es. If you got off the road the bus would actually move. Oh don't hit on Austin, TX, it's the only thing Texas has going for. It has the South By SouthWest Music festival & is the live music capital of the world.
