I'm not some PS3 fanboy, if that's what you're saying. The fact is that the vast majority of the game's code could remain completely untouched except for IO and a few other performance tweaks. No art or models would need to be redone. No physics or AI or any other "game world" code would need any changes.
What's funn dclowd, is that (no joke) I read that and instantly thought of Microsoft. Though not as good as they used to be, Sony still isn't all that bad. Meanwhile M$ charges tons more for second-rate products that occasionally look pretty, and has been doing so since the company's inception.
Criterion: most of these cads got into the series because Morrowind was on their precious (and nigh-worthless) X-Box. As far as their concerned, that IS the first, why do you think they all refer to things as "Oblivion" or "Morrowind", etc. instead of TES1/2/3/4
The idea that adult software developers think of "camps" about such things, is preposterous.Nobody above 6 years old sees them as mutually exclusive. On another note, it might be a bad idea modding emiliolizardo down, as he's essentially right.Further, n00854180t has one hell of an attitude and a lot of diggs, considering that his "technical details" seem to have been read straight from a gamespy preview - making use of SPEs is really not the hugest consideration for people moving a product who are using licensed middleware and sitting the rendering engine on top of pre-existing APIs - the main problems are wrapping/rewriting everything for new libraries (and yes, structural changes that can be needed with even quite HL programs on platform change are part of that) and the nitty-gritty stuff like restrictive contracts you may have, and ensuring all of the (sometimes stubbornly windows-only) middleware is ported - as well as licensing/reimplementing missing stuff if it just isn't going to be.I wouldn't even bother to mention it, if he wasn't calling other people idiots.
If it had 0 good RPGs before Oblivion was ported to it, it would have 0 good RPGs after Oblivion was ported to it, and that's being *VERY* charitable and calling Oblivion an RPG.There's more RP in talking to a slice of toast than Oblivion anyway, so it's not a great loss to RPG fans.

A PSP port would be a scaled back version of the game...like Splinter Cell or Tomb Raider will be.
