memorysuppliers.com — this new mp3 player looks, acts and even has some of the same parts of an official ipod shuffle. only difference is that it plays Mp3, WMA and WAV files, and you can slap your own logo on either or both sides.

The Shuffle is certainly the least interesting of Apple's players to try and make a clone of. But why bother? The iTunes software that works with Apple's is excellent. A clone won't support AAC. Does this support some kind of lossless compression? The Shuffle does, although I suppose few with lower-end players would want to use that with relatively little storage space. The online stores selling WMA files are horrible. I guess an alternate player could be as usable for playing MP3s, although AAC gives better quality for the same file size.Is one of these vastly cheaper than a Shuffle or something? What's the point? If I were to settle for a low-cost substitute for an iPod, I'd want the storage and features of the Nano or a Video iPod.Can't anybody do anything innovative instead of just trying to do a copy of what Apple has already done really well? The chips in many of these players support audio input. Why not offer a player where I can say the name of the song I want and it jumps to it?

It's not so much a ripoff as it is a company sourcing from the same chinese company Apple sources from.
