kotaku.com — "Don't have a PS3 pre-order? Launch is gonna suck. If only, if only you worked at Best Buy, then you could take home consoles by the truckload. Right? Nope, not according to one insider who claims that Best Buy is attempting to lock all staff out from getting a console."

You fail to mention why homecoming was canceled in the first place. Just because your walkout returned results, doesn't mean it was A) staged for the right reasons and B) a bullying tactic by the students to the staff. Not discounting your actions, just sayin its not so black and white. If homecoming was canceled because of drunken debauchery by students earlier in the year, I can certainly see a good enough reason to punish students.

Regular employees might not but managers will get theirs.

sotopheavy, Just because it could and probably is happening down the line does not make it right. I work for a car dealership and its the same way, normal vehicles we get the hook up, specialty or low run vehicles we are just like joe consumer, no discount and no pre-pre-orders. I see nothing wrong with this policy on limited / short supply items.

I work at Future Shop (Best Buy's sister store in Canada) and we have the exact same policy. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this and the whole store accepts it, we work at Future Shop because we're all geeks, if staff were allowed to pick up consoles before customers, no customers would have a chance. Does this bother me? No, not at all. because I know there's about 15 other retail stores close to me that I can pick up a unit from. Walmart, Toys R Us, BestBuy, each of them with multiple locations. It was the same for the 360 and it wasn't a problem

@Diana172:But what if you have a day off, and you choose to wait in line like the regular customers? Should you still be prevented from buying a PS3?
