I bought the $150.00 warranty with my projector because they told me it would cover the bulb replacement as long as it burned out within 2 years. Knowing new bulbs cost at least that much I was stoked to buy it but then about a year and a half later when the bulb went out...They were totally badass and said that because they didn't sell that projector anymore (duh, its over a year old) I could go and pick one of equal or lesser value or put the full amount towards a more expensive model. I found the newest version of my current projector that was selling at the same price but was redesigned and significantly improved, traded my old one, and re-purchased the warranty. So until they up their warranty pricing or change their policy, I'll be getting a brand new $1,000.00 projector every 2 years for $150.00.Sorry to be a dick but all you guys bitching about Best Buy's warranty service must be a bunch of retards. Learn how to read a damn contract before you complain that no one kept you from being a dumbass.
I don't think this story is typical. My husband works at Best Buy. I doused my camera in water 2 weeks after I bought it and it was replaced under the accidental coverage warranty.
I went hiking and dropped my sony HDV camcorder down the side of a mountain in Sedona, AZ and it was covered and completely replaced by the extended warranty. No complaints.
