I would like to hear more about this story ,but I doubt this person is going to have the internet much longer. So I found out for my self...http://www.bendbroadband.com/residentialservices_0 ...4 tier system ,$1.50 a gig over no matter what tier.Tier 4 $172.05Tier 3 $247.05Tier 2 $277.05Tier 1 $344.00Not to mention the $46.95- $74.95 monthly fee. Not a good day to be that guy ,and damn my curiosity.

I've got an idea! My IPS limits my bandwidth, so I'll both make a Digg article pointing to a site I host on my personal machine and I'll enter it in Stumble Upon's database. That should help me lower my bandwidth!

(sorry about the self promotion, but I've been hitting this pretty hard on my blog, which is based in Bend):For more on this:Original Story, with comments from BendBroadband:http://utterlyboring.com/archives/2008/03/21/bendb ...Then it made Gizmodo:http://gizmodo.com/377955/the-future-of-broadband- ...which got dugg:http://digg.com/tech_news/The_Future_of_Broadband_ ...Followup after the above links hit the web, with additional comments:http://utterlyboring.com/archives/2008/04/09/bendb ...Needless to say, I'll probably be moving to DSL here soon, and losing a long-time advertiser on my site.

Hey, the more people who hear about this the better! And as per gutterpunk's comment... these new "features" don't take effect until July 1.
