wired.com — "To make their new concert movie, the Beastie Boys distributed Hi8 video-cams to 50 fans at a 2004 show in New York City". When they were done, "We put them back in their boxes and returned them for a refund." Does this mean after watching their movie, viewers can get a refund?

I got to go to a screening of this at SXSW. The Beastie Boys were there and even passed mics around to the audience to ask them quesitons. It really was a cool concept and more power to them for returning the things, I bet more than a few people got home with some smokey smelling cameras!http://2006.sxsw.com/film/screenings/film/F4812.html

They kept the video when they were done. I'll do the same. Rent DVD, Rip with Mac The Ripper, Burn with Popcorn, Return DVD to the store. Done
