technologyreview.com — EEStor's ambitious goal, according to patent documents, is to "replace the electrochemical battery" in almost every application, from hybrid-electric and pure-electric vehicles to laptop computers to utility-scale electricity storage.

If you are asking how many charge/discharge cycles before you throw it away, it "...can completely absorb and release a charge at high rates and in a virtually endless cycle with little degradation."

Anything that cannot be recharged from a conventional electrical outlet (much less qith liquid that has to be stored and transported) is doomed. It's simply too inconvenient to "refill" all your electronics the way you do a car.

ugh okay that middle sentence didn't make sense guys, let me reword that (edit timed out). Do capacitors discharge quickly or can they be controlled, and how would this affect the applications that are stated in the article? Could you use a resistor with a high resistance to control the voltage and amperage of the capacitor discharge?ThanksP.S. Edits should be possible for whenever you want them.

Firstly, they should not have announced it. Secondly, they should've left the States and complete their work where big oil isn't that strong. I know, that's hard to find, but it can't get much worse than States.Good luck to them!

Now we know what was in that "Terminator" power pack that blew up so much terrain when Arnold threw it away.

I'm perfectly willing to admit that they may know more than I. They may have come up with something we're not considering.Good luck to 'em.

@valkraider, I'm glad that you brought this up. I think that people seem to be blowing off the fact that even at 220V, it would seem that you'd need an enormous amount of current to charge for a 200 mile drive in ten minutes. As you implied with your comment, that lamp-wire extension cord strung out to the driveway intended for Christmas lights would probably melt (not to mention the short life one would get before the circuit tripped). It would be nice to get some real numbers attached to this, but I'm guessing that to charge this thing in ten minutes, one would have to "plug in" to high-tension lines. It makes me suspicious of the whole story, even though *their* plan might be a ten-minute charge at a special generating station and we're just "assuming" that they're talking about charging at home.

I had been through difficult times trying to replace the battery until I was suggested by my friend to go in for batteries from Battech International Limited. I surfed through the valuable information on their website http://www.battech.co.uk/ and the disclaimer on reduced costs price promise and top quality service was indeed challenging to scan many other brands for better deals. Their aim on returns to provide 100% customer satisfaction and excellent customer service motivated me to buy the iPod Battery for a fair deal from a wide selection.
